As you all know the horse crisis in Ireland is an ongoing problem with many horses neglected or left abandoned and starving, cruelty cases etc...A few of us second year UCD Veterinary Nursing studets have decided to join Leinster Horse & Pony Rescue for the barefoot walk in April to raise much needed funds to help and rehabilitate horses and ponies in need. Any donation is appreciated no matter how small every cent counts! Thank you :)

This is a bit about LHPR;

Leinster Horse & Pony Rescue (LHPR) (formally known as IEC) charity was set up by a small group of friends who had very little resources and a deep sense of injustice at the suffering of abandoned horses in Ireland, and a passion for change.

The Leinster Horse & Pony Rescue (L.H.P.R) is a voluntary organization dedicated to the welfare of horses and ponies in Leinster. L.H.P.R rescue, rehabilitate and rehome equines that have been subject to abuse, neglect, abandonment and deprivation. We respond to emergency calls regarding injured or distressed horses and ponies. We also carry out talks and presentations on responsible horse ownership and horse welfare to schools and colleges.From nothing has grown this beautiful organisation. We rescue, rehabilitate, re-train and re-home Ireland's forgotten horses and ponies.
