Chernobyl Kilkenny Outreach Group, the official Kilkenny Branch of Chernobyl Children International founded by Adi Roche in 1991.
We are a group of local Kilkenny volunteers who work at various projects to help rebuild the lives of the people affected by the world's worst nuclear disaster, which happened in Chernobyl in 1986.
We try to help by raising funds for medical and other supplies, by going out to Belarus and working on projects like building and renovating homes and orphanages, and by hosting children from Belarus with the Rest and Recuperation Programme, bringing them over to Ireland to give them respite from the contaminated environment in which they live.
