On the 23rd of March 2018 I became the proud mammy to Liam and Grace Doyle. Sadly Liam died just as he was born while Grace breathed on my chest for 31 minutes before joining her twin brother. It was then we were first introduced to the amazing charity Feileacain. We were given a memory box filled with items we needed for Liam and Grace. Beautiful hand knitted blankets and hats, 2 teddys (1 we buried with Liam and Grace and 1 we kept), lip balm, a memory card to take precious photos and information to help us over the next few days. Feileacain made it possible for us to spend every minute of Liam and Grace's short time here together as a family. They provided a cuddle cot so they could be beside us in the hospital and they brought a cuddle cot to our home so we could bring our beautiful babies home to meet their loving family. A wonderful lady from Feileacain also came to our home and made beautiful hand and foot prints of Liam and Grace which we will treasure forever. Feileacain have continued to support us through this tough time. They provide support meetings for bereaved parents and a telephone service. They are a huge support to me personally and all bereaved parents affected by stillbirth and neonatal death. They receive no state funding and rely on donations. Myself and Liam and Grace's two aunties are doing the mini marathon to try raise awareness and funds for this great charity.
