Everyone knows I volunteer for this rescue in my spare time! MLHR dedicate themselves to rescuing, rehabilatiing and rehoming Horses and other animals in need. Their long term goal is to end equine suffering in Ireland through lobbying and campaigning to enforce the current animal welfare laws and working with authorities to improve them. I have never known such a dedicated group of people who go above and beyond to rescue Horses. They are out there 24/7 7 days a week. They never say no to an animal in need or distress, they always try and find a way! They are currently not government funded apart from a small annual grant that is received from the Department of Agriculture, so fundraising is vital and is what keeps rescue running. If all my friends and family could please give what they can and sponsor me doing the marathon for them this year, any amount at all adds up and really helps them continue the vital work they do for animals.
My Lovely Horse Rescue was set up in 2012 to deal with the vast numbers of horses, ponies and donkeys abandoned as a result of Ireland's equine crisis. We began with one borrowed horse box, one small paddock and the will to change things for the equines we came into contact with. Since then, by using fosterers, livery yards and private trainers we have taken in over 80 equines in varying states of neglect and abuse and rehabilitated, trained and re homed those who were ready. For those
