I rowed with Courtmacsherry Rowing Club when I was in my teenage years and I would love to see a club house put in place for future generations.  Courtmacsherry Rowing Club is great club with members ranging from 8 to 60+ who compete locally, nationally and internationally each year.  The Club are currently on a fundraising drive to build a new club house in Courtmacsherry.  At present the club operates from two containers adjacent to Courtmacsherry beach with no toilet or changing facilities.  The plan is to build a new clubhouse at the site, to modernise the facility and secure the clubs future for many years and generations to come.

As part of this fundraising effort I have committed to raising what I can for the building fund.  I plan on running the Clonakilty Waterfront half marathon in Deember 2018 - and just to keep it interesting I plan on doing it in a regulation military gas mask.  This will also be a Guiness World record attempt.  I have started training already so don't be alarmed if you come across me on the roads with the gas mask on.  I will keep you updated on how my training is progressing on my instagram page donalyoung@instagram between now and December.  I would be really grateful if you could contribute any amount big or small to this worthy cause.  Thank you Donal Young.
