Dear All,
It’s that time of year again where I have to scrape last years mud off my boots and prepare myself to climb Croagh Patrick and hike around Murrisk, County Mayo. Ireland. They’re very kindly (and, let’s face it, none of us are getting any younger!!) giving us a break from the 42km cycle this year.
As always it is a great privilege to be able to team up with the brilliant people at SunriseupCroaghPatrick who give up their time and voluntarily organise this great event to raise much needed funds for three neurologic diseases; Parkinson’s, Huntington’s and Motor Neurone.
The support and sponsorship I received for this event last year was absolutely amazing. I managed to raise a fantastic €2690 thanks to peoples generosity. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who made donations. I will be forever grateful.
Every penny I raise goes directly to the charity and the money is put to great use but sadly these diseases are incurable and with more and more people being diagnosed every year, every penny/cent I can raise is just a drop in the ocean compared to how much is needed. Most of you will know someone who is affected by one of these debilitating diseases. I’m passionate about raising awareness and doing whatever I can to help this charity as my Mother has Motor Neurone Disease and my late Father had to live with Parkinson’s for more than 20 years. One of my Brothers Mother in Law died from Huntingtons.
I’ve seen first hand the devastating effects these neurological diseases have.
I am asking if you would kindly consider sponsoring me for this years event.
All donations, however big or small, are so greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

We offer consistent support to approximately 450 families across Ireland who otherwise would have nowhere else to turn. Everybody with MND has different needs at different stag

Huntington’s Disease (HD) is a life-limiting hereditary brain condition that affects a person’s physical abilities, emotions and thinking skills. Symptoms can vary significantly even between individuals in the same family. Over the course of the illness, from 15 to 25 years on average, people with HD will lose the ability to walk, talk, eat and manage their self-care and can also experience emotional and mental health changes.
