I'll be taking part in this years Barrington's Great Limerick 10km Run. I'd love to raise a few bob for a charity very close to my heart and who gave Emer and I, an unbelievable level of support after our baby boy Oscar died on New Years Day. Thanks to Feileacain, we were able to bring our little son home.
Feileacain is an incredible group of bereaved parents that provide support to anyone affected by the death of a baby during or after pregnancy. Feileacain provide memory boxes, cameras and hand & foot prints of your little baby but most importantly for us, they provide you with a 'cold cot' so that you can keep your little baby with you until you have to say goodbye. Its priceless when you're going through such a difficult time.
All the money raised will go towards ensuring Feileacain can offer this invaluable support to any other parent who is unfortunate enough to find themselves in the same position. Any donation is greatly appreciated.
I have never run before in my life, and have only ran 4 times so far to train, so your donations will be earned!!

About the Cause
Féileacáin (Stillbirth & Neonatal Death Support)
Why the name FéileacáinA Butterfly lights besides us like a sunbeam …Many of the ancient civilizations believed that butterflies were symbols of the human soul, and in Irish mythology the butterflies, or ‘Féileacáin’, are said to be the spirits of the departed who return to visit their favorite place and their loved ones to reassure them that they are alright.
