For over two years, I have been a befriending volunteer for ALONE. I visit Claire every Thursday evening.
Due to a medical condition and numerous accidents, Claire is quite immobile so has limited company.
We chatter, natter, quality control varieties of cake, and laugh a lot. It has become a highlight of my week.
Befriending is a valuable service that benefits the recipient, society and I can confirm the volunteer gets a lot out of it too. I have made a great friend.
