It is not an easy task to try and leave your home, a place where one should feel safe, alone or with your family because you are suffering from domestic abuse. Women are having to travel to Meath or Louth because there is no refuge in Cavan, and from there continue to try bring about some sense of normality,  bringing children to school, travelling to work. If a refuge was to be open in Cavan,  it would perhaps encourage more people to seek help,  advice or safely from domestic abuse relationships and make the decision less intimidating as they can still be near to work/schools/family instead of several counties away.

The fact that there are people who will never understand is upsetting, but the fact that there are people who do, that's even more upsetting.
