I am doing the VHI Women's Mini Marathon this year in support of the Irish Society for Colitis and Crohns Disease, they are a fantastic charity who support people with IBD and their families. Currently people with IBD have a team of doctors and a specialist nurse who help them deal with the symptoms of the illness and help people of all ages to live as if they do not have the disease at all. They do fantastic work, espeically the specialist nurses who are often the first point of call in a crisis flare. However they are inundated with the growing numbers of patients in Ireland - 15,000 people in this country currently. I am running the VHI Women's Mini Marathon to primarily raise awareness about Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease and I would greatly appreciate if everyone could sign the following petition to the Irish government to double the amount of IBD specialist nurses in Ireland from 14 to 28. Any donations to the ISCC would really improve the chances of this campaign. Thanks a million and the link to the petition is below!
