We are organising a Dawn Walk in Bayside in support of the annual Darkness Into Light campagin in aid of Pieta House

This May we will be organising the 2nd Annual Bayside Dawn Walk. This is in support of the well known Darkness Into Light campaign running on the same morning in location all over the country. In 2018 after a suggestion from a local resident. The idea was to offer a local option for people to support this fantastic cause who may not be able to make it to one of the larger venues and take part. We were blown away when over 100 people showed up to complete the walk from Bayside up to St Annes Park and back. We then had a sausage sambo and cup of tea in the Remembrance Garden in Bayside Park to cap the morning off. We were further amazed when the Community and those who supported the walk donated over €2,225 euros which was donated straight to Pieta House in full.

We are organising the walk again in 2019 on Sat May 11th. The plan is to meet in Bayside Square (by Community Centre) at 4am. From there will be a walk out to the coast road, to St Annes Park and back to Remembrance Garden in Bayside Park. There will be sausage sambo's, tea/coffee and hot chocolate available for all to share something to warm you up before heading off.

Like all Communities, there are so many people who have been impacted by suicide. Pieta House are a fantastic charity who offer a number of services to those impacted directly or indirectly by suicide and serious mental health issues. We should note that in no way is this intended to compete or distract from the incredible event and general movement that is the Darkness Into Light walk. This is simply a local option to take part and support the cause within our own Community should the larger organised walks not be an option.
