ElectricAid

ElectricAid, supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals at home and abroad.

ElectricAid is ESB’s social justice and development fund which provides funding for small development projects worldwide that aim for long-term sustainable improvement in the well-being of communities. Projects are monitored over the course of their lifetime and have been shown to have huge impacts on the lives of the poorest people. In addition, ElectricAid responds to disasters such as the Haiti earthquake and the Syrian Civil War by providing funds from its own Disaster Relief fund and Special Appeals to our members, friends, and supporters.

We fund grassroots development projects which help people lift themselves out of grinding poverty and ill-health. We specialise in basic infrastructure (water, sanitation and energy), health care, basic & vocational education, agriculture & food security, and micro-finance for micro-enterprise. Our fundings are primarily at the community level, and are generally availed of by Irish and overseas development NGOs, small community-based organisations, and faith-based entities. We insist on high standards of references, project design, application and post-implementation reporting.

Our funding changes thousands of lives worldwide every year.
