Aisling's Profile

Elected Cllr in local election 2019. Fine Gael candidate for Roscommon-Galway in the General Election. 

Her vision is building a region in East Galway to live, to work and to visit. As Councillor, Aisling will ensure a safe and healthy environment for our community with a strong focus on Portiuncula Hospital and how to incentivise start-ups and businesses. As TD, she will bring a Strong Voice and a New Vision to represent the people in this area and she needs our support to get there. Any contributions would be very appreciated and ensure we have a better choice on 8th Feb 2020 at the General Election, further details on donation limits below.

·         From Poolboy, Ballinasloe and a student of Scoil Mhuire, she is an Arts graduate of NUI Galway with a Postgradudate Diploma in Applied Languages for Business. With training in export marketing and Diploma in Project Management.

·         From a farming background with a love of the countryside and rural life. She has worked in Dublin for Enterprise Ireland supporting Irish businesses and in Science Foundation Ireland funding excellence in research at 3rd level. She moved back to Ballinasloe 3 years ago and joined NUI Galway, working as a project manager Innovation in Healthcare and with Irish start-ups and staff within the HSE. 

Aisling's Track Record 

·         A co-founder of the Ballinasloe Says No campaign group who successfully challenged Galway County Council in the High Court on compliance with the European Habitats Directive and impact of a waste transfer station on the waterways and on the River Suck Flood Plains.

·         Motivated & co-ordinated community support in Ballinasloe area to collect over 500 petitions, 220 objections and canvassed 39 Councillors in Galway County Council.

·         Actively engaged with Ministers, MEPs, Senators, TDs, senior barristers, solicitors on behalf of the community in Ballinasloe & townlands in this area.


All donations, big and small are greatly appreciated! Aisling does not have the financial support of any political party. If you would like to donate to Aisling's campaign and help her be the voice of East Galway, here are some guidelines:

·         €1,000 is the maximum donation that can be given to this cause by an individual – any amount up to this limit that you can give is welcome!!

·         If you wish to remain anonymous, €100 is the maximum donation you can give as an individual.

·         For Corporate organisations, €200 is the maximum donation you can give, unless you are registered with the Standards in Public Office Commission, with the donation being capped at €1,000.
