Online Fundraising for Clubs, Schools and Causes

Loving Work Foundation Vietnam

Dear friends, I am traveling to Vietnam later this month from March 30th to April 15th, to undertake a community work retreat on scholarship with the Loving Work Foundation and visit the Homeplace of renown Poet, Peace Activist and Zen Master Thich Nath Hahn.

The LWF was founded as a means to inspire personal interest in the cultural vibrancy, the spiritual practices and every day lives of the people of Viet Nam and are involved in supporting humanitarian programs that improve the lives of disadvantaged Vietnamese children and families. Participants are asked to undertake a fundraising effort in advance of their arrival that serves to shine light on the wonderful work of local NGOs to bring education and self-sufficiency to families and children in underserved communities in Vietnam

I am writing to ask for your help in raising €500 with every cent brought to Vietnam by me, to be donated directly to one of the LWF local participating partners and charities. Some of these partner organisations include;

Action for the City: Working primarily in Hanoi and Hoi An promoting sustainable urban community development. The organization's objectives are to re-create open space for public and recreational activities; to build organic urban gardens for re-vegetation purposes and safe organic food production; and to empower community groups and local authorities to jointly take action for greener and healthier cities and urban life in Vietnam.

For The Children Viet Nam: This Vietnamese NGO Agency was established in 2013. It is headquartered in Hoi An, Quang Nam Province. Its founder and director, Mrs. Vy Thuy Nguyen, started the organization in an effort to support children with their education and to provide living skills courses and vocational training for children. Their programs include Creating Access to Books, Scholarship/Sponsorship Programs.

The Kianh Foundation: An NGO organization operating in the Hoi An area of Viet Nam since 2000. Registered in both Britain and Viet Nam, their state-of-the-art center, located in the poor, rural area of Dien Ban, currently serves more than 100 children with a wide range of disabilities – Cerebral Palsy, Down's Syndrome, Spectrum Disorders – by providing mainstream education, physical development, and very specialized behavioral management.

Peace Trees Vietnam: A Seattle and Quang Tri Province based NGO since the mid-90s, with a mission to heal the relationship between Vietnam and the US. They do this in partnership with local communities in Vietnam, to remove explosives and return land to productive use, build schools and libraries and support educate for future generations. Other work has been to bring volunteers who have planted over 45,000 trees, in an area where all trees were destroyed by bombs and/or herbicides.

Project RENEW: Operating in Quang Tri Province, this project is dedicated to clearing the land of unexploded live ordinance leftover from the Vietnam/American War. Their services include education of the children, as well as assistance for individuals and families affected by the loss of a limb and/or of the means to make a living.

As you may know due to extremely detrimental effects of flying to increasing GHG emissions and contributing to climate change I would only ever wish to travel by flight on very special grounds and circumstances. This I believe is one such occasion, thank you so much for supporting me in this. Thanking you in advance for your help and support.
