Rama's Family

Rama left Syria in the height of the civil war in 2015/2016 and after a very precarious journey she made it safely to Greece. In March 2017 Ireland accepted her under the Relocation Programme and she has been living in Direct Provision ever since.

Her 3 young sons (Ali, Alaa and Zain) and her husband remained behind in Syria as she travelled alone seeking safety and opportunities for her young family. Just last week Rama got word that her application for family reunification has been accepted meaning she can finally be reunited with her loved ones.

The aim of this fundraiser is to help pay for all the costs involved in getting her family to Ireland. The IOM (International Organisation for Migration) will help with the logistics but do not help with paying for transport or Visa's. As Rama is in Direct Provision she gets just €21.60 per week and the situation in Syria is so dire that there is no way for her husband to earn money.

This is why I am asking for help in raising these funds. I have set the target at €3,000. I have based this estimate on another family who were in the same situation recently and the overall quote they got for 1 adult and 2 children was €2260.83 (I'm going to add an image of a quote from the IOM)

This is a small gesture to bring back a family together and for Christmas too hopefully.
