Swimming Shannon For Irish Cancer Society and Pieta House

On 24th May Patrick will begin an epic challenge of being the first Irishman to swim the length of the Shannon. Over 12 days he will swim 245km smimming on average 8 hours a day covering over 30km a day.
This swim will take him from the north of the country in Co. Cavan to the Limerick/Kerry border on the south-west coast.

He will be doing this swim in aid of a number of charities and is seeking your help to support these great causes.

Pieta House
Pieta Houseis a non-profit organisation providing a specialised treatment programme for people who have suicidal ideation or who participate in self-harming behaviors or to help those who have been bereaved by suicide.

Irish Cancer Society
The Irish Cancer Society is the national charity in the Republic of Ireland dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem, and improving the lives of those living with cancer.The Irish Cancer Society provides information on Cancer as well as support services.

Cloghan Hall Development Fund
Cloghan Hall has been in existence for over 60 years. The hall provides a location for Cloghan community groups including the Annual OAP Christmas PArty, Exercise groups, meeting space for many community groups and more. The fund helps maintain the hall and help it provide use to the community.

Riverside AFC
Riverside AFC was established in 2016 as a club for the people of Belmont, Cloghan, Shannonbridge and surrounding areas. The club currently fields a senior team in the CCFL.
