Tuam Ladies RFC are running a number of fundraising events for Carmel Creaven our team mate who was injured while playing a rugby match on the 8th of January, which resulted in her obtaining Spinal Shock Syndrome.

Carmel has just turned 24 and has been very active since a young age playing a variety of sport including Soccer, Martial Arts and Rugby to name a few. Due to her injury she will require ongoing rehabilitation Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and counselling. She has a long road ahead of her as she needs to learn how to walk again and regain the use of her upper body, simple tasks are no longer simple for Carmel. The funds raised will go towards her ongoing rehabilitation.

Carmel has been a member of Tuam Ladies RFC near 5 years now and though she has been left with a life changing injury, her love for the game has not been lost and her spirits remain high.

We are hoping to raise funds for her ongoing rehabilitation. We started with a Poker Night on the 7th of April in the Corralea Court Hotel. This was a very successful & enjoyable nyt of poker, well done to all involved and a massive Thank You to the winning lads whom after a gruelling 8hrs of poker, donated their prize money back to Carmel's fund.
