C.A.P.S Cavan Autism Parents Support CLG
Cavan Autism Parents Support CLG is the first of it's kind in Cavan, which has been solely set up to support the parents, carers and children/young adults with autism in county Cavan and surrounding areas.

We currently have 73 families & 85 children/young adults in our group.

C.A.P.S. is the brainchild of Bernie Nelson who's son is autistic. C.A.P.S. have conducted numerous fundraisers over the past number of years.

Most of C.A.P.S. work is done on a fundraising basis, so this means that it is not always possible to cater for everyone's individuals needs. We certainly would not be able to provide any of this without our ongoing support we get from our fundraising events throughout the year and our volunteers.

C.A.P.S. not only provides events for children/young adults with autism but also for their parents and siblings too.

where your money goes

CAPS run a variation of camps and activities throughout the year. These include seasonal camps at Easter, Summer and Halloween as well as weekly Computer Club for the senior members of our group & Saturday Club for our younger members.

During the camps the attendees visit various locations such as The Zoo, Causey Farm, LesiurePlex, and much more!! On all of these trips each child/young adult is accompanied by their own carer/volunteer.
