Pieta provide free counselling to those with suicidal ideation, those engaging in self-harm, and those bereaved by suicide. Staff are fully qualified and provide a professional one-to-one therapeutic service.We also operate 24 hour Helpline 1800 247 247 and Text Help 51444.

Clients can self refer, they do not need a letter from their GP or Psychiatrist. Once contact is made an appointment is arranged for an assessment. After assessment the client is assigned a therapist and treatment begins. All treatment is free of charge, however donations are gratefully accepted.

Pieta first opened its doors in Lucan, County Dublin in 2006. Since then we have seen and helped over 70,000 people in suicidal distress or engaging in self-harm.
We now operate fifteen centres and five outreach service across Ireland. Pieta now employs over 270 therapists and administration staff, and the demand for our service is increasing.
