I have organized a fundraiser in aid of two very important charities, The Hub Community Centre, Strokestown and East Galway and Midlands Cancer Support. Thank you to both groups for their great support.
The Hub Community Café, Strokestown.
The Hub Café in Strokestown, Co. Roscommon is a community owned social enterprise initiative which was established in 2012 for people with intellectual disabilities. There are currently 17 young adults working in The Hub. They also offer training to young adults in need of support. Audrey and all the team at The Hub, Strokestown do fantastic work for young people with intellectual disabilities and I want to help support them in whatever way I can.
East Galway and Midlands Cancer Support Centre
This is a fantastic group. The number of people attending weekly has reached over 200. All the support they offer is free of charge. They have also become a member of the European Cancer Patient Coalition (ECPC), which give them a political and medical voice in Europe. They provide a full time drop in centre as well as a 24 hour phone service.
The money raised will be divided equally between the two groups and I thank them for their cooperation in this regard. While the event is scheduled for Saturday, July 4th the fundraising link will remain in place for over two months so people can donate at any time within that period.
Both charities are in need of finances as a result of the COVID19 pandemic.
Any support would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
